The J. W. Dunlop Photograph Collection traces the history of Arlington, Texas, the first pioneer settlement in Tarrant County, from the late-19th century through much of the 20th century. Dunlop amassed a collection of more than 1,000 images of Arlington and its environs over 60 years, primarily by copying the collections of individuals, businesses, and organizations. Images found in the Dunlop Collection span over one hundred years in time and include public buildings, businesses and business interiors, street scenes, parades and rallies, bands, homes, churches, schools, railroad depots, cotton gins, sports, the fire department, early residents, city officials, beauty queens, soldiers and veterans, and more.
