Description
Two scrapbook pages with a black background containing clippings and photographs. On page 1 the top two clippings feature numbered illustrations of Texas wildlife, including a jackrabbit, terrapin, armadillo, roadrunner, horned toad, and cottontail rabbit. The third clipping is a text block describing these animals as species that servicemen are likely to encounter at Texas military camps. The large bottom clipping is titled 'Camp Hood, Texas' with a handwritten addition of 'Aug 1943'. Page 2 contains a black-and-white photograph and two newspaper clippings. The photograph depicts a wide view of servicemen marching in formation across an open field. The upper-left clipping it titled 'The Christmas Plate Special: Noon Menu From Turkey to Punch with an inscription added to read '(Cake)'. The lower-left clipping is titled '614th Bn. Gets Commendation of Gen. Hester'.
