Judge George L. Allen, Sr. (1908-1991) served the Dallas community as a noted humanitarian, businessman, and civil servant. He was the first African American elected to the Dallas City Council and as mayor pro-tem, he was also one of the first African Americans to serve as a Dallas County Justice of the Peace.
