Flora and Dickson Reeder Papers are the personal and business papers of Dickson and Flora Blanc Reeder from 1919-1995. Flora (1916-1995) and Dickson Reeder (1912-1970) are best known for their work as artists and members of the Fort Worth Circle. The Reeders were actors, painters, and teachers who contributed to the rich artistic culture that is still present in Fort Worth. In 1945, Dickson and Flora founded the Reeder School in Fort Worth, which provided a cultural outlet for children between the ages of 4-14 years old. The Reeder School operated from 1945-1958, and during this period, the school served as a leading cultural institution for children’s theater. Materials within the collection feature information about Flora and Dickson’s personal lives, their careers as artists, and their work with Reeder School, a children’s theater school. The collection is organized into three series: Personal Papers, Reeder School Records, and Productions.
