The Little family was involved in the ice business in North Fort Worth, Texas, from the early 1900s when John D. Little drove an ice wagon delivering block ice to customers. He owned and managed the Lone Star Ice Company from its founding in1919 until it merged with the North Fort Worth Ice Company in 1927. Successive generations of the Little family, C. D. "Buster" Little and granddaughter Betty Ruth Little, owned and managed the North Fort Worth Ice Company until it was sold in 1980. Buster Little was appointed Tarrant County Sheriff in 1933 and served one term. In addition to the ice company, Buster was also president of Ranch House Ice Cream Company. The Little Family Papers is comprised of materials relating to the Little family, Clarence D. "Buster" Little, Betty Ruth Little and the North Fort Worth Ice Company, including correspondence, legal and financial records, photographs, newspaper clippings, and ice company artifacts.
