Asa Hoxey (1800-1863) was a trained physician and plantation owner who participated in the Texas Revolution and served the Republic of Texas as medical censor. The Asa Hoxey Family Papers document the educational, social, and professional activities of Asa Hoxey and his daughter, Sarah Anne. Collection materials include correspondence, certificates, medical school documents, passport, land survey notes, Republic of Texas currency, Confederate States of America bond and currency, poems, article, receipt, and memorabilia. Also includes correspondence from Sam Houston and Mirabeau B. Lamar.
