Abstract
As a group we were tasked with creating a digitally formatted zine that draws comparisons between our own culture living in Texas and the culture of our peers at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand. Our group chose to illustrate the similarities of the livestock industries that are prevalent in our respective home locations. For Texas, we explored the cattle industry and the cowboy lifestyle. For New Zealand, we explored the sheep farming industry and the native Maori culture of the nation. We also highlighted the ways in which media has altered or projected these cultural images (i.e. the Cowboy lifestyle and native Maori practices) in the public eye.
