Abstract
This paper analyzes the current climate of the music education system of the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). It explores the social, technical, and political factors that can affect access to quality music education. This research was conducted via a survey created on Qualtrics that was distributed digitally to current students, faculty, and staff of UTA. Results suggest a need for raised awareness on ways different elements of inclusion can affect the culture and values of the music education environment. More research needs to be completed on how the system is being run from an administrative level. For future reference, it would also be beneficial to expand this research in order to understand better how music education is being practiced in the public music education system in the City of Arlington, Tarrant County, and the State of Texas for comparative purposes.
