Abstract
This project is about exploring the relationship between tutoring hours and GPA along with other variables like ethnicity, year in college, gender and major. Peer-based tutoring data from University Tutorial and Supplement Instruction at The University of Texas at Arlington was used to do this research. Data from Spring 2017 through Fall 2018 was used for this research. Statistical tools were used to this research to come up with a difference-indifference model using different variables. Interaction terms between different variables were used to explore the data that was used. Through regression analysis it was found that tutoring hours do have a positive effect on GPA and Letter grades. Ethnicity, year and major variables affect the predicted number of tutoring hours a student can have.
