Abstract
With the influx of students in universities, and the increase in the size of classes, the attendance taking process has become more cumbersome and time consuming. Using traditional techniques of attendance taking wastes a lot of time in class and leads to a lot of errors. Ichnaea: Automatic Student Attendance Tracking System provides a non-intrusive way to take attendance in classes. The main aim of Ichnaea is to automate the attendance taking process. There will not be any need for manual attendance taking. After the system is installed in a classroom, the students only need to walk into class with their student device on them. At the end of class, the professor can go onto the Ichnaea website and log into his account to view the attendance.
