Who Can Submit

Theses and Dissertation sections of MavMatrix are dedicated to the sharing of recent graduate student research outcomes. Only graduate students earning a degree within the relevant program and department should submit to this section. For additional information and questions, please contact thesisdissertation@uta.edu.

A paper may be updated or removed from public view by sending a request to thesisdissertation@uta.edu. A citation to the original version of the paper will always remain on the site.

Author Review

Authors will not have an additional opportunity to approve papers once they have been submitted prior to them becoming publicly available on the site. Make sure that your paper is ready for public distribution upon submission.

Rights and Permissions

Before submitting a paper to the repository, please be sure that all necessary permissions have been cleared. Upon submission, you retain the copyright to your work and grant us the non-exclusive right to publish this material, meaning that you may also publish it elsewhere. Please note that due journal and monograph publishing constraints as well as patent filing requirements, thesis and dissertation authors are given the opportunity to embargo (delay) the distribution of their work for up to two years within the submission form.

It is necessary that you agree to the terms of publishing in the repository listed in the author agreement as part of the submission form (and copied below).

UTA Libraries Non-exclusive Distribution License, Intellectual Property, and Submission Agreements

By checking the box below, I agree to the following:

  1. I grant UTA Libraries on behalf of the University of Texas at Arlington, or its licensee, the non-exclusive right to copy, display, perform, distribute and publish my submission ("the Work") over the Internet and make it part of the MavMatrix institutional repository;

  5. I understand that once the Work is submitted, a bibliographic citation to the Work can remain visible in perpetuity, even if the Work is updated or removed;
  7. I understand that the Work will be publicly shared using the Creative Commons license I identify in my submission form on the UTA institutional repository web platform;
  9. I understand that the Work's copyright owner(s) will continue to own copyright outside these non-exclusive granted rights.

    I warrant as follows:

    1. The Work is my own original work;
    3. The Work does not infringe any copyright, nor violate any proprietary rights, nor contain any slanderous, libelous, or unlawful content, nor infringe on the civil rights of others;
    5. The Work has not been published elsewhere with the same content or in the same format unless properly referenced; and
    7. The Work conforms to the sections on copyright and plagiarism in university and Graduate School guidelines.
    9. No right in the Work has in any way been sold, mortgaged, or otherwise disposed of, and that the Work is free from all liens and claims.
    11. If there is a breach of items above, I indemnify The University of Texas at Arlington and hold it harmless for any legal actions that might result.
