Abstract
The need of today's construction whether it be residential, commercial or infrastructure is to cut costs while maintaining schedule, scope, and delivering the expected quality. This realization has brought to light the importance of project delivery methods. Project delivery methods are no longer seen only as procedures to follow for a construction project; they have become instruments that are being used to save money, deliver projects ahead of schedule and come up with innovative design solutions by utilizing the contractor's expertise. This thesis evaluates the pros and cons of project delivery methods with respect to trenchless construction. Trenchless technology methods not only provide solutions that are less disruptive to the social and ecological environment but also solutions that significantly reduce the life cycle cost of the project. With the choice of multiple project delivery systems available, this thesis evaluates each method for advantages and limitations that it brings to a trenchless construction project. The thesis also provides a Decision Support System (DSS) to aid in the selection of a specific project delivery method.
