Abstract
Design work from the 1990 fall semester, Studio Martin Price, School of Architecture, The University of Texas at Arlington. Ecology Museum. Kathleen Korba. An area of magnificent natural surroundings in the northwestern area of Fort Worth is the location for the museum. The principal feature is the exterior path that traverses the site as a hollowed-out section of land, making it one with the land. The retaining walls form the facades of the exhibition and ancillary spaces of the museum. An interior path snakes through a continuously torqued plane that twists from a horizontal to a vertical position. Instead of the viewer moving around the exhibition, the exhibition moves around the viewer where the focus can be downward for the study of the land, or upward for the study of the sky.
