Abstract
Aggregated and deidentified pre- and post-self-evaluation survey data from the Maker Literacies pilot program, Fall 2017 through Fall 2018. The public version of the data includes self-evaluation data from 347 students enrolled in 27 unique courses spanning 13 disciplines at five universities. Competencies measured by the self-evaluations include makerspace equipment use, design thinking principles, project and time management, and assembling effective teams. Disclaimer: this data was gathered while developing and testing our data collection methodology and should be regarded as test data. It should not be used for research at this time. While I have made every attempt to clean up the data and remove unreliable survey responses, I do not believe the data to be completely reliable or generalizable at this stage, primarily because our beta-phase survey question bank was a test version with the intention of improving it. Disclaimer 2: (Added 10/17/2019) The survey durations in our test data are not reliable. It appears that at least some of that data was converted from number of seconds to a date stamp when exporting from Qualtrics or importing to Excel.
