Abstract
Join the UT Arlington Libraries during Open Access Week for a venture into Wikipedia. Wikipedia is often the place where research begins on the internet. It is ranked 5th in overall global web traffic. Its mission is to provide free access to knowledge. With over 30 million articles written in 286 languages, Wikipedia generates approximately 8000 views per second from 500 million monthly visitors. How can libraries, staff, and faculty leverage the power of Wikipedia and turn this tool into an interactive learning opportunity for students and the community? Listen to Michael Barera and then stay for a lunch panel presentation on Wikipedia in the Classroom.
