Description
Helen Boyd, registrar of the Children's Museum, holds the "Presidential Violin" believe to have been made by the famed Amati family in Italy, where Stradivari apprenticed. The violin, donated to the museum in 1955 by Mrs. A. J. Broderick, spent 50 years in the White House, where it was played upon for many presidents, and played by Abraham Lincoln. Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning edition May 28, 1967.
