Description
Clipping reads "Arlington, as this scene shows, is ready to welcome all Texas Saturday when William McCraw, native son, formally launches his campaign for governor in McCraw Homecoming Day ceremonies. Here Mayor W. F. Altman, general chairman and official host for the homecoming, waves his hat at a McCraw banner while twin beauties, 17-year-old Joyce and Lois Herbert, smile their greeting. The girls, seniors at Arlington High School, have been designated by Mayor Altman as McCraw Day sweethearts." Altman and the Arlington City Council declared April 23, 1938 as McCraw Homecoming Day.
